Dramatic waterfall in a jungle area with a steep hiking path & a popular lookout point
There are two waterfalls, Phaeng Noi (small) and Phaeng Yai (big). When you arrive at the Park you will first pass the Phaeng Noi, it is a high waterfall that you cannot climb. The biggest swimming pool is just when you enter. A nice big pool for proper swimming and a small bridge out in the water.
One of the island’s grandest waterfalls Phaeng Yai, is a steep 250m walk up a jungle trail, but once there it is quite an impressive fall. The park is big enough to keep going up the path following the waterfall, to find your own special spots with a pool, and make camp for a short while.
Location – In the center of Koh Phangan Island, 5 mintues easy drive from Thong Sala. All taxi drivers know where this is.
Fee – Free! There is no admission fee although you enter into a National Park.
Swimming – Yes
Other activities – Walk further up a very steep path with manmade wooden step and rope, which brings you to a fantastic mountain top viewpoint, over a large portion of the South of the island.
