Haad Yuan trek (South)
Strenuous sticky long climb trek, but you have a birds eye view of the South Eastern side of the island.
Instagram worth photos are taken here! This viewpoint is found taking about 1hr, long the route for the Haad Yuan trek. This spot is a natural rock formation carved into the cliff face looking out onto Haad Yuan beach and Haad Tian beach. There is a long drop from this viewpoint, which makes it even more impressive, looking from a new perspective, over the tops of the trees.
The start of the trek is very steep and humidity, and you will feel like you are something out of ‘lost’ being surrounded completely by huge luscious green flora and fauna. You need plenty of water and decent shoes that won’t spread your ankles.
Continue on to Haad Yuans beautiful beach, with flat seas (apart from monsoon season in Nov), perfect for cooling off. Its atmosphere is much more relaxed and cleaner then the main tourist area.
Location – Starting in Haad Rin Beach, Full Moon Beach, in found in the South of Koh Phangan.
Getting there – The path begins on the dirt road behind the Fairyland Resort, look for a small path leading off the road up beside a few small local houses on the hill. There are blue maker signs on the brick wall pointing towards the start point. Keep following the path to take you to the viewpoints and beach, Haad Yuan.
Distance – 1hour trek.
Intensity – High. You will need water and shoes. At parts you will be pulling yourself up with the tree roots.
