Chinese Temple
The Chinese Temple Guan Yin found in the north of the island, is a large and impressively decorated complex with colorful architecture. It consists of some viewpoints with magnificent views of the surrounding landscape the Chaloklum area.

Many visit Guan Yin to pray, meditate, or simply admire the magnificent religious building in the Chinese style.
Description of the temple:
This largest Chinese temple one the island is dedicated to goddess of mercy Guan Yin, which represents feminine reincarnation of the Buddha.
Made up of 3 separate buildings. In the main building, there is the statue of the goddess of mercy – Guan Yin – with a beautiful shrine, decorated with candles, incense, ceramic figurines and flowers. Second part of the temple is complete with other Taoist deities for meditation, and the third part is for donation. A smiling Buddha, can be seen also, to promote for good luck and prosperity.
Location – South of Ao Chaloklum beach near the road leading to Thongsala.
Getting there – Easily reached by motorbike or taxi, you cannot miss the large temples venue perched on the hill as you will drive by when arriving to Ao Chaloklum.
Opening Hours – Open to the public, 8.00am to 5.00pm.
Cost – Free! However any voluntary donations are welcome.
Events – During Chinese Ney Year and other Chinese holidays there are celebrations at this temple. 3 main festivals are held during the year which are dedicated to Chinese Buddha, in January, May and August.
